Chapter 9 - Bringing Victoria Home

With Charles Vance in federal custody and Richard Sterling facing multiple felony indictments for corporate treason, the immediate threat to my family was dismantled. Our next objective was clear: bringing Victoria home.

Using the secure coordinates provided in Charles's encrypted files, Marcus and I led a federal extraction team to the private medical retreat upstate where Victoria had been held against her will. The facility, disguised as a luxury wellness spa, was breached without resistance.

When I pushed open the heavy oak door of the private suite, Victoria looked up from the edge of the bed. Her face was pale, etched with the exhaustion of months of captivity and fear, but when she saw me standing in the doorway, her eyes widened in disbelief.

"Nathan?" she whispered, her voice breaking. "How... how did you find me?"

"You left me a letter, Victoria," I said, walking across the room and kneeling before her, taking her trembling hands in mine. "And I followed it all the way to our son."

Tears spilled over her lashes as she threw her arms around my neck, burying her face in my shoulder as all the armor she had worn for a decade finally melted away. "I was so scared, Nathan. When my father found out about the baby, I had no choice but to hide him. I knew you were the only one strong enough to keep him safe."

"He's safe," I reassured her softly, pulling back to look into her eyes. "He's back at the Greenwich estate, and he's being looked after by Mrs. Harris and a very brave little girl named Lily."

Victoria smiled through her tears, the warmth returning to her face for the first time in twelve years. "Lily... she found him?"

"She did," I said. "And she's not going anywhere."
