Chapter 7 - A New Horizon

Months turned into a year, and the transformation of Moretti Group was nothing short of extraordinary. The logistics division flourished under our joint leadership, setting new benchmarks for transparency and profitability. The dark cloud that once hung over the Moretti name began to clear, replaced by genuine respect across the industry.

Beyond the office, the bond between Dominic, Lily, and me grew deeper. Dominic became a constant, comforting presence in our lives. He showed up at Lily’s school plays, taught her how to ride a bike in Central Park, and provided a sense of safety and family we hadn't known for a long time.

One evening, while walking through the illuminated plaza outside the corporate headquarters—the very place where Lily had confronted him—Dominic stopped near the central fountain.

He turned to face me, taking my hand gently. "Now I know it was the place where my real life began. The day a fearless little girl walked up to me with a pink stuffed rabbit and demanded justice for her mother."

He pulled a small velvet box from his coat pocket. Inside rested an elegant ring, glittering softly under the warm plaza lights.
