Chapter 10 - A New Dawn

Six months later, the spring flowers bloomed in brilliant shades of violet and yellow across the expansive front lawns of the estate. The trees were heavy with new green leaves, and the air smelled of rain, earth, and infinite renewal.

Greer stood on the wide front porch, watching June take her very first unsteady, wobbly steps across the smooth wooden floorboards. The little girl laughed, her arms outstretched, wobbling delightfully before tumbling straight into a soft landing against her mother’s shoes.

Greer dropped to her knees, scooping June up into her arms and spinning her around while the baby’s infectious laughter echoed through the sunny morning air.

Life had settled into a rhythm of absolute peace and vibrant purpose. Maddox House was thriving under Greer’s sole leadership, its brand completely rebranded to focus on authentic, handcrafted nursery designs created by mothers, for mothers. Her newly established nonprofit had already helped hundreds of women facing postpartum crises and corporate marginalization, turning her own darkest hour into a beacon of hope for others.

Landon and Evelyn were entirely out of the picture. Stripped of his executive title, his stolen assets, and facing pending criminal indictments for corporate fraud, Landon had retreated into complete obscurity. Evelyn’s social standing had evaporated alongside her son’s fraudulent empire, leaving them to live out the consequences of their own calculated cruelty.

There were no more staged portraits, no more stolen jewelry, and no more shadows waiting in the corners of her home. Every photograph on the walls now captured genuine moments—real smiles, unfiltered laughter, and an unbreakable bond between a mother and her daughter who had survived the worst and built something infinitely stronger from the ashes.

Greer walked back inside, holding June close against her chest as the warm spring breeze drifted through the open windows. The past was gone, the present was entirely hers, and the future stretched out before them—bright, beautiful, and entirely unconquerable.
