PART 2 — The Secret Behind the Scar

Twenty-four hours earlier, Lily had spent the afternoon at Victoria’s estate while Sophie attended an emergency business meeting.
When Sophie returned, Victoria claimed everything had been wonderful.
“Just a girls' day,” she said.
But Lily had refused to remove her hat.
Now the truth was finally emerging.
Under Eleanor’s command, security footage from Victoria’s estate was brought into the ballroom and projected onto a massive screen.
The guests watched in horror.
The footage showed Victoria leading Lily into a private room.
Then a man entered.
Not a hairstylist.
A surgeon.
Sophie felt her knees weaken.
“What is this?”
Eleanor stared at the screen, her face pale.
Years earlier, the Whitmore family had lost access to a hidden inheritance worth hundreds of millions of dollars. According to a long-forgotten trust document, ownership would pass only to a direct descendant carrying a unique birthmark behind the left ear—a birthmark that had existed in the family for generations.
Lily had been born with it.
Victoria’s son had not.
The footage continued.
Victoria pointed at Lily’s birthmark.
The surgeon hesitated.
Victoria handed him an envelope stuffed with cash.
The room erupted in outrage.
“She tried to remove it,” Sophie whispered.
But the next video clip was even worse.
During the procedure, something went wrong.
Lily screamed.
The surgeon panicked.
The blade slipped.
And the scar that now marked her face became permanent.
Guests looked at Victoria in disbelief.
Yet Victoria showed no remorse.
“You don’t understand,” she shouted. “That inheritance belongs to my son!”

Then Eleanor stood.
And the room went silent.
