“Are you sure you’re ready to step back into the operating room, Dr. Cole?” Elena asked softly, her eyes sparkling with warmth.

Sophie ran over to Adrian, wrapping her arms around his leg in a tight hug. “Are you going to fix toy airplanes anymore?” she asked seriously.

Adrian knelt down, resting his hand gently on her shoulder with a warm chuckle. “I think I’ll stick to fixing hearts, Sophie. But I’ll always keep a needle and thread in my desk just in case Button needs another checkup.”

Sophie giggled, holding the gray rabbit up triumphantly. “Button approves!”
