Chapter 10 - The Unbroken Circle

Late that night, after the hospital had settled into its quiet, rhythmic hum, August stepped outside onto the front steps of Marbury General for a breath of fresh air.
The winter air was crisp and clear, filled with the brilliant light of a million stars burning brightly across the midnight sky. The snow on the ground glistened like scattered diamonds under the streetlamps.
A sleek, black town car pulled silently up to the curb and came to a smooth stop. The rear window rolled down, revealing Solomon Blackwood’s calm, weathered face. He gave her a respectful nod from the backseat.
"Everything quiet tonight, August?" Solomon asked, his voice carrying a warm undertone.
August leaned against the stone railing, smiling faintly as she looked up at the lighted windows of the hospital. "Peaceful, Mr. Blackwood. For the first time in years, absolutely peaceful."
"Sebastian sends his regards," Solomon added. "He wanted me to let you know that the new regional trauma foundation officially launched across three neighboring states this morning. Thousands of nurses and doctors are finally getting the backing they deserve."
August nodded slowly, a profound sense of closure settling deep into her chest. "Tell him the work has only just begun."

Solomon smiled, gave a crisp nod, and signaled the driver. The black car glided silently away into the night, melting seamlessly into the empty, quiet streets of the city.
August turned back toward the glowing glass doors of Marbury General. She adjusted her badge—the simple silver tag that still read simply A. WAYNE—and walked back inside, ready to face whatever came next, standing tall, unbreakable, and forever at the heart of the healing.
