Chapter 10 - Happily Ever After

The reception on the grand terrace lasted well into the starlit evening. String lights woven through the oak trees cast a warm, golden glow over the long wooden tables laden with artisan food, sparkling wine, and a towering four-tier vanilla wedding cake topped with tiny sugar figures of a man, a woman, two children, and a very happy little girl holding a book.
Music drifted across the lawn as guests laughed and danced under the open sky.
Grant and Natalie shared their first dance to a slow, timeless melody. As they swayed together near the edge of the terrace, Grant pulled her a little closer, resting his chin gently against her hair.
“Are you happy, my love?” he whispered against her ear.
Natalie leaned back slightly, looking up at him with absolute peace in her eyes. “I have everything I ever dreamed of, Grant. And more.”
Across the lawn, Ben and Sophie were teaching Lily how to spot the constellation Cassiopeia in the clear night sky, pointing bright laser pointers up toward the stars. Laughter echoed through the cool evening air, bright and unburdened by the past.
Inside the mansion, the marble foyer remained quiet and pristine, but the ghosts of old bitterness were gone forever. Replaced by genuine laughter, unconditional trust, and the quiet, enduring warmth of a family built on truth.
