Chapter 7 - Legal Retribution

Parker tried to argue, tried to drop to his knees to beg, but the determination in my eyes was absolute. Defeated, he slowly walked down the porch steps toward his car.
Through the front window, I watched the spectacle unfold. As soon as Parker got into the driver’s seat, Alana and Ellie began shouting at him, gesturing wildly toward the house. But Parker didn't drive away immediately; instead, I saw him pull out his phone and play the audio recording for them right there in the car.
Even from inside the house, I could see the exact moment the truth hit them. Ellie’s face went completely pale, and Alana put her hands over her face in utter humiliation. They realized that their wicked scheme was not only exposed, but that they had recorded the evidence themselves on Ellie’s own phone.
Parker put the car in reverse and sped down the driveway, carrying his mother and sister away from my property forever.
The very next morning, I contacted my attorney, Sarah Vance, a top-tier family and legal representative. I sent her the full audio file, along with photos of the cold potato plate, receipts for all the groceries I had purchased, and security camera footage from the house showing Alana and Ellie’s behavior.
"Clarissa, this recording is explosive," Sarah told me during our emergency consultation. "Not only does it completely destroy any potential claim Parker might try to make on your assets during a divorce, but it also establishes clear intent for fraud and emotional abuse of a minor."
"I want a full divorce, Sarah," I said firmly. "I want a clean break. No spousal support, no asset sharing, and a permanent restraining order keeping Alana, Ellie, and Parker away from Dustin."
"Consider it done," Sarah replied. "With this audio evidence, no judge in the state will grant Parker a single dime of your property. In fact, if he tries to fight this, we can pursue legal charges for attempted fraud regarding the real estate deed."

Within three days, Parker was formally served with divorce papers and an eviction notice for his remaining belongings at our city apartment.
When his lawyer reviewed the evidence we possessed—specifically the audio recording of Alana detailing their plan to manipulate the deed—Parker’s legal team advised him to surrender completely. He signed the divorce settlement without contesting a single clause. He forfeited all rights to any shared claims, agreed to bear his own legal fees, and accepted a formal no-contact agreement regarding Dustin and me.
