Chapter 9 - The Legacy Cleared

By sunrise, the siege was over.

The Moretti family had miscalculated disastrously. The failed assault on the Rossi estate gave Leo the exact legal and criminal leverage he needed to wipe them out completely. Within forty-eight hours, the Moretti empire in Chicago was dismantled, its leaders arrested or fled, and total peace restored to the territory.

A week later, a quiet ceremony took place in the grand ballroom of the Rossi mansion.

There were no media cameras, no fake high-society snobs, and no aristocratic pretenses. Only Leo’s closest, most loyal men, the house staff, and a priest.

Beatrice stood near the high glass archway overlooking the pristine gardens. She wore a stunning, custom-tailored ivory lace gown that hugged her curves in all the right places, accentuating her soft, gorgeous figure. She looked radiant, strong, and breathtakingly confident.

Lily stood beside her, wearing a matching ivory flower-girl dress, holding a small basket of yellow rose petals.

Leo stood at the altar, looking at Beatrice as she walked down the aisle toward him. Tears filled the eyes of the feared mafia king—tears of sheer gratitude.

When she reached him, he took both of her hands in his.

"Beatrice Miller," Leo said, his voice echoing softly through the hall. "I used to think my heart died the day I lost my past. You brought life back into this home. You taught my daughter how to smile again, and you taught me how to love. You take up every inch of my heart, and I will spend the rest of my life honoring you."

Beatrice wiped a tear from her cheek. "Leo Rossi, I used to wish I could vanish into the walls. But with you, I found where I truly belong. I promise to love you, stand by you, and protect our family forever."

The priest smiled warmly. "By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride."

Leo didn't just kiss her; he swept her into his arms, lifting her slightly off her feet as the entire room burst into thunderous applause and cheers. Lily jumped up and down, throwing yellow rose petals into the air around them.
