Chapter 10 - A New Beginning
Six months later, the private coastal estate two hundred miles south of the city looked entirely different.
The grand, sprawling mansion — once shuttered and wrapped in the dreary ghost stories of a tragic past — was now overflowing with life. Sunlight streamed through crystal-clear windows, bouncing off freshly painted walls, newly planted gardens, and the joyful sound of a child's laughter echoing across the manicured lawns.
In the sunroom overlooking the sparkling blue ocean, a small, intimate gathering was taking place. There were no corporate sharks, no corrupt board members, and no terrified housekeepers trying to hide from harsh managers.
Instead, there were trusted friends, loyal estate staff who had returned to their posts, and a beaming registry official standing behind a flower-adorned archway.
Lucía walked down the aisle of the sunroom, wearing a simple, elegant ivory dress that caught the morning light. Her dark hair fell in soft waves around her shoulders, and her eyes shone with absolute, unadulterated joy.
Waiting for her at the altar was Adrian, dressed in a sharp linen suit, holding a toddling, laughing Mateo in his arms. The baby was dressed in a miniature matching waistcoat, clutching a small wooden toy train in one hand and reaching out with the other toward his mother as she approached.
Adrian looked at Lucía with a depth of devotion that made the surrounding guests blink away sudden tears of emotion. He had found his son, he had reclaimed his life, and most importantly, he had found the love of his life in the most unexpected place imaginable — tucked away on the bottom shelf of a hotel cleaning cart.
