Part 3: The Family He Never Knew

Three months later.

The newspapers exploded with headlines.

Meredith Voss and Everett Voss were arrested after investigators uncovered years of fraud, embezzlement, and conspiracy involving the family's business empire.

Without their interference, every charge against Claire disappeared.

The media quickly discovered another story.

The mysterious maid was actually the forgotten daughter of billionaire Victor Voss.

Reporters camped outside the mansion for weeks.

Claire hated every second of it.

She preferred hospitals.

Because her mother was still fighting cancer.

One afternoon, Claire entered the private room carrying flowers.

Her mother looked stronger than she had in months.

Across the room stood Adrian.

He had quietly paid for experimental treatment without telling Claire.

The doctors now believed she would recover completely.

Claire's eyes filled with tears.

"You didn't have to do this."

Adrian smiled slightly.

"I know."

"You don't even know me."

He looked toward the window.

"My father did."

For a long moment, neither of them spoke.

Then Adrian reached into his pocket.

He handed Claire an old silver key.

"What is this?"

"Our mother's piano room."

She frowned.

"We don't have the same mother."

Adrian shook his head.

"No."

"But my mother always wanted another child in the house. She never got the chance."

He smiled for the first time in years.

"I think she would have liked you."

Claire laughed through her tears.

Weeks later, the abandoned grand piano was finally opened.

Inside, hidden beneath the strings, was a small wooden box Victor had left behind.

There were childhood photographs, handwritten birthday wishes for both Adrian and Claire, and a simple note.

If you're reading this together, then somehow you found each other.

Take care of one another.

That will be worth more than every fortune I leave behind.

Claire looked at Adrian.

"So... what happens now?"

He looked around the mansion that had always felt cold and empty.

Then he answered,

"We stop living like strangers."

Months passed.

The servants no longer called Claire "the maid."

They called her "Miss Voss."

She converted one wing of the estate into a children's charity and cancer foundation in honor of her mother and Victor.

Adrian quietly funded every project while pretending not to care.

The employees knew better.

Every birthday, he personally ordered a chocolate cake because he had discovered it was Claire's favorite.

Every Christmas, music echoed through the mansion as Claire played the restored piano that had remained silent since Adrian's mother died.

One evening, Nolan watched the siblings arguing over whose turn it was to cook dinner and smiled.

The most feared mafia boss in the city had defeated rivals, corrupt officials, and betrayals.

But the greatest victory of Adrian Voss's life had begun with a hidden camera that captured a single slap—and revealed the sister he never knew he had.

And for the first time since Victor Voss's death, the Voss mansion was no longer ruled by fear.

It was finally a home.
