Chapter 10 - The Garden of Clarity

One beautiful spring morning, two years after the nightmare had ended, the sun shone brightly over the newly restored garden of the Vance estate.

The old, beautiful house had been completely renovated. The air smelled of blooming jasmine, fresh earth, and the sweet aroma of lemon tarts baking in the kitchen. Callie’s home-baking business had expanded into a highly successful organic bakery, operating from a beautiful, modern kitchen on the estate.

In the center of the garden stood a brand-new, beautifully carved stone statue of the Virgin Mary, surrounded by white roses.

Geneva sat in a comfortable rocking chair on the porch, wrapped in her favorite lavender shawl. Her face was plump, healthy, and radiant with a serene smile. She watched Callie walk toward her, carrying a tray of tea and fresh pastries.

"Here you go, Grandma," Callie said, kissing her forehead.

Geneva looked at the garden, then at Callie. She reached out and squeezed Callie’s hand. The grip was warm, strong, and full of life.

"You did a wonderful job with the roses, my beautiful girl," Geneva said, her voice clear, her eyes shining with absolute clarity. "Your grandfather would be so proud of you. I am so proud of you."

Callie felt a tear of pure joy slip down her cheek. She leaned her head against her grandmother's shoulder, listening to the gentle breeze rustling through the whispering pines in the distance.

They had tried to discard Geneva like trash, believing her mind was a locked, useless room. But love had found the key. And in that love, they had both finally found their home.
