Chapter 8 - The Golden Promise

The wedding took place a year later on the cliffside lawn of their Haven Harbor estate.
It was not the massive, political spectacle of their first marriage. There were no news reporters, no high-society politicians, and no mafia bosses. It was an intimate gathering of true friends, hospital staff who had saved Noah’s life—including Dr. Reeves and Nurse Patricia—and their small family.
Harper wore a breathtaking lace gown, her hair decorated with white wildflowers. As she walked down the aisle toward the altar, she looked at Dante, who stood waiting in a dark blue suit, his eyes shining with unhidden tears.
Noah stood beside Dante as the best man, wearing a tiny matching tuxedo, proudly holding the ring pillow.
When Harper reached the altar, Dante took her hands gently in his.
“Harper,” Dante said, his voice resonant and clear. “I once thought that protecting you meant standing in front of you with a shield. Today, I know that loving you means walking beside you, holding your hand, and sharing every light and shadow together. I promise to cherish you, honor you, and spend every day making sure our home is filled with joy.”
Harper smiled, her voice thick with emotion. “Dante, you showed me that true strength isn’t in control, but in the courage to change. You fought for our son, and you fought for us. I give you my heart, my life, and my love forever.”
They exchanged rings, and as the minister declared them husband and wife, Dante lifted Harper into his arms, kissing her deeply as the guests cheered and clapped.

Noah jumped up and down, pulling on Dante’s jacket. “Can we eat cake now, Daddy?”
Dante laughed, scooping Noah up onto his shoulder. “First cake, then dinosaur tag!”
