Chapter 9 - A New Dawn
Following the public announcement, life transformed completely for Leo and his grandfather.
They moved out of the railway shack and into a beautiful, sunlit estate adjacent to the Coleman family home in upstate New York. Henry's health continued to flourish; though he retired from active surgery due to his age, he spent his days writing medical journals and mentoring young surgical residents.
Leo enrolled in the prestigious St. Jude Academy. On his first day of school, carrying a new leather backpack instead of his old sack of bottles, he stood at the front gate, looking up at the grand brick building.
Richard and Isabelle stood beside him.
"Nervous, Leo?" Isabelle asked gently, adjusting his collar with motherly affection. Over the past months, she had grown to love Leo as her own son.
"Not really," Leo smiled. "It's just bigger than the railway yard."
"You belong here, son," Richard said, placing a warm, heavy hand on the boy's shoulder. "You belong anywhere you choose to walk."

Inside the school, despite his wealthy new surroundings, Leo remained grounded. He didn't forget where he came from. Every Saturday afternoon, he visited his old neighborhood near the tracks, bringing hot meals, clothes, and educational materials to the children who still lived in the slums. He started a local youth program, teaching street children how to read, write, and develop practical skills to build better lives for themselves.
Baby Ethan grew rapidly into a happy, energetic toddler. His first spoken word wasn't "mama" or "dada"—it was "Lee," his attempt at saying his older brother's name. Whenever Leo returned home from school, Ethan would toddle across the hardwood floor, giggling and throwing his arms around Leo's legs.
