Chapter 5 - Unraveling the Mystery

Richard immediately ordered the medical team to carefully transfer Henry to the top VIP suite at the city's primary medical center—the same hospital where baby Ethan had just been saved.
While Henry was placed under the care of top specialists, receiving treatment for advanced respiratory inflammation, Richard, Leo, and security chief Marcus met in a private conference room downstairs.
"The silicone disc Leo pulled from Ethan's throat," Marcus began, placing a clear plastic container on the table containing the microscopic object. "We ran a forensic analysis on it."
"And?" Richard demanded, his brow furrowed.
"It isn't a part of any medical equipment present in this hospital," Marcus revealed grimly. "Nor is it a component of any commercial pacifier. It is an engineered micro-valve seal designed specifically to expand when exposed to moisture and body heat. Someone intentionally placed it inside the baby's pacifier chamber before he was admitted."
Isabelle gasped, clutching her chest. "Someone tried to murder our child?"
"Yes," Marcus replied. "And whoever did it knew that standard medical imaging would pass right through clear silicone without triggering alerts, making it appear as a natural internal spasm or rare tumor."
Leo stared at the tiny transparent object in the plastic vial. His sharp mind, trained by years of searching through trash heaps for specific metals, began processing every tiny detail he had seen that morning.
"Mr. Coleman," Leo spoke up, his voice calm and deliberate. "When I was coming up the service stairs to return your wallet, I saw a man in a blue maintenance uniform coming out of the private ICU corridor."
"Maintenance?" Richard frowned. "That floor was locked down."
"He was wearing expensive leather shoes under his work pants," Leo pointed out. "And he had a golden lapel pin in his pocket—the kind with a eagle holding a serpent."

Richard’s face went completely pale. "The emblem of Arthur Coleman's private investment house."
"Arthur..." Isabelle whispered, terror in her eyes. "Your uncle wants to inherit the Coleman Group voting majority. If Ethan died and you were driven into grief-induced resignation, Arthur would take complete control of the board!"
