Part 3 – A House Built on Lies

James canceled every meeting that day.

For the first time in years, business no longer mattered.

Only Leo.

He found his son in the garden drawing dinosaurs beside Clara.

When Leo saw his father approaching, his smile disappeared.

Instead of running toward him...

...he instinctively stepped behind Clara.

That hurt James more than any business failure ever had.

He slowly knelt.

"I'm sorry."

Leo looked confused.

James continued.

"I didn't believe you."

Silence.

Then Leo asked the question no father ever wants to hear.

"Am I still a bad boy?"

James's heart shattered.

"No."

Tears filled his eyes.

"You were telling the truth all along."

Leo hesitated.

Then took one cautious step forward.

James wrapped his son in the gentlest embrace he had ever given.

The boy cried into his father's shoulder.

Not from pain.

From relief.

That afternoon James ordered security to review every camera recording inside the mansion.

Most bedrooms had no cameras.

But the hallways did.

Three weeks earlier...

Victoria had entered Leo's room carrying a sewing basket.

She stayed inside for nearly twenty minutes.

When she came out...

...the basket looked noticeably flatter.

James replayed the footage again.

And again.

His breathing became uneven.

"Zoom in."

The technician enlarged the image.

There it was.

The pale gold embroidery thread.

The same thread Clara had recognized.

James closed his eyes.

"No..."

But the nightmare wasn't over.

Clara found something even stranger.

While washing Leo's bedsheets, she noticed dozens of tiny blood spots hidden beneath the pillowcase.

Old stains.

Repeated stains.

Night after night.

Someone had washed the pillow every morning before anyone else noticed.

Only one person always insisted on preparing Leo's room herself.

Victoria.

That evening James confronted his fiancée.

She laughed.

"You're accusing me because of some sewing thread?"

"You were in his room."

"I was decorating."

"The pillow was resewn."

"I don't remember."

"The cameras remember."

Victoria folded her arms.

"I think your nanny is manipulating you."

James looked directly into her eyes.

May you like

"No."

"You underestimated the wrong woman."
