Chapter 10 - The Wolf and the Empire

Ten years later.
The private airstrip behind the Long Island estate shimmered under the bright afternoon sun. A sleek, twin-engine Gulfstream sat waiting on the tarmac, its turbine engines humming with a low, rhythmic power that vibrated through the concrete.
A black sedan pulled up smoothly beside the aircraft steps. The rear door opened, and Damian Voss stepped out, impeccably dressed in a tailored charcoal suit, his silver-streaked hair brushed back with the same commanding presence that had ruled the eastern seaboard for decades.
He turned and offered a hand to the passenger stepping out behind him.
A young woman, tall and poised, stepped onto the tarmac. She wore a sharp, professional navy blazer, her dark hair gathered in a sophisticated twist. Resting against her collarbone, catching the brilliant summer sunlight, was a heavy, hand-forged silver wolf pendant with its teeth bared under a crescent moon.
Mia Reyes—now eighteen, and the youngest certified chief technology officer in the history of the global syndicate—adjusted her wristwatch and looked up at Damian with a confident, knowing smile.
"The flight to Geneva is scheduled for four hours," Mia said, checking her tablet device. "The encrypted handshakes with the European council are fully synced, and the new network architecture is running at absolute peak efficiency."
Damian looked down at her, a profound sense of satisfaction washing over him. The little girl who had once sat in the dark behind his terminal in an oversized navy jacket had grown into a brilliant, formidable leader—the true architect of an empire built not on fear and betrayal, but on absolute loyalty, truth, and unbreakable strength.
"I know," Damian said, his voice warm with pride. "Because you designed it."
Mia slipped the tablet into her briefcase and turned toward the aircraft stairs. Before climbing aboard, she paused, looking back out across the sprawling estate that had become her home, her sanctuary, and her kingdom.
Damian walked up beside her, placing a steady hand on her shoulder—just as he had done ten years ago in the vault.
"Ready?" he asked softly.
Mia touched the silver wolf pendant around her neck, a bright, unshakable smile gracing her lips.
May you like
"Always," she said.
Together, the mafia boss and the architect of the new empire climbed the steps into the aircraft, closing the door behind them as the jet taxied down the runway, rising gracefully into the endless blue sky toward a bright and undisputed future.
