Chapter 10 - A NEW DAWN AT ALCAZAR ESTATE

The sun began to dip below the horizon, painting the Los Angeles sky in brilliant shades of amber, violet, and rose. The limestone walls of the Alcazar estate glowed softly in the twilight, no longer a gilded prison, but a genuine home filled with warmth, laughter, and life.
Inside the grand kitchen, Mrs. Gable was humming softly as she prepared a celebratory dinner, the rich, comforting aroma of roasted garlic and rosemary filling the air.
Santiago and Nicholas bounded through the French doors, their faces flushed with the healthy glow of a full day spent outside.
“Camila! Dad! Can we have extra dessert tonight?” Santiago begged, tugging eagerly at my sleeve. “We finished all our homework and we scored three goals against Marcus in soccer!”
“Only if you wash your hands first,” I laughed, gently swatting at his soccer-dusted shoulder.
“Deal!” Nicholas chimed in, grabbing his brother’s arm and racing toward the upstairs bathroom, their energetic footsteps echoing happily up the grand staircase—a sound that used to signal fear and medical emergencies, but now simply sounded like two healthy little boys enjoying their childhood.
Alexander stepped closer, wrapping his arm around my waist and pulling me gently against his side as we watched them run upstairs.
“You know,” Alexander murmured near my ear, “the estate feels complete for the first time in two years.”
“It takes more than limestone and windows to make a home, Alexander,” I replied, leaning my head against his shoulder. “It takes truth. And it takes people who care enough to fight for it.”
“And you fought harder than anyone,” he whispered, pressing a tender kiss to the top of my head.
Outside, the iron gates of the estate stood open to the evening breeze, welcoming a bright, unshadowed future. The nightmare of Dr. Roger Hale was locked away behind cold prison bars where it belonged, leaving behind a legacy of survival, justice, and enduring love.

We sat down together at the long mahogany dining table—Alexander, Santiago, Nicholas, and I—surrounded by candlelight, laughter, and the sweet, untainted air of a new beginning.
For the first time in a very long time, everything was exactly as it should be.
