Bright red and blue charts illuminated the courtroom, displaying the flow of funds from Grant’s architectural firm bonuses directly into an LLC registered under Madison Cole’s maiden name. The documents detailed over ninety thousand dollars in diverted marital assets, lease agreements for the Elm Street townhouse, and itemized receipts for luxury vacations, designer clothing, and high-end photography sessions.
Victor Vance, Grant’s attorney, adjusted his tie nervously, flipping through the papers before looking sideways at his client with a look of profound betrayal. “Mr. Sterling did not inform me of these corporate shell accounts when we filed the primary retainer,” Victor stated clearly for the record, effectively cutting his losses.
“The financial records speak for themselves, counselor,” Judge Harrison noted, scanning the summary sheet. “Not only did Mr. Sterling attempt to weaponize his ex parte custody petition while financially draining the marital estate, but he did so while his wife was recovering from major reconstructive knee surgery.
