PART 2: The Billionaire Who Refused to Lose

PART 2: The Billionaire Who Refused to Lose

The emergency entrance exploded into chaos the moment Lucian Blackwood's convoy arrived.

Doctors rushed toward the armored SUV.

Security agents in black suits formed a human wall around Ava as Lucian carried her through the sliding glass doors himself.

"Triplet pregnancy," Lucian ordered calmly. "Possible premature labor. I want the best obstetric team in this hospital. Now."

No one questioned him.

No one dared.

Within seconds, nurses surrounded Ava.

She reached for his sleeve.

"You don't have to stay."

Lucian looked down at her.

"I know."

A pause.

"But I will."

The words settled somewhere deep inside her.

No promises.

No romance.

Just certainty.

Twenty minutes later, another convoy arrived.

Nathan Drake walked into the hospital with three attorneys, two private security guards, and Chloe Matthews on his arm.

He smiled confidently.

Until he saw who was standing outside the maternity ward.

Lucian Blackwood.

The billionaire didn't move.

Didn't speak.

Simply watched Nathan approach.

Nathan stopped.

For the first time in years...

He looked uncertain.

"Mr. Blackwood," Nathan said carefully.

Lucian's voice remained calm.

"Leave."

Nathan laughed.

"I believe you're interfering in a family matter."

"I wasn't asking."

The hallway became painfully quiet.

Doctors stopped walking.

Nurses froze.

Even Nathan's lawyers exchanged nervous glances.

Everyone knew one thing.

Nathan Drake was rich.

Lucian Blackwood was untouchable.

Nathan folded his arms.

"Those children are mine."

Lucian's eyes never blinked.

"No."

Nathan frowned.

"They carry your blood."

"They carry her life."

Another silence.

Then Lucian stepped closer.

"So tell me, Nathan."

"Where were you six hours ago?"

Nathan didn't answer.

"When she was crying in the rain?"

Silence.

"When she collapsed on a city bus?"

Silence again.

"When she believed she was losing your children?"

Nathan's jaw tightened.

Lucian's voice hardened.

"You abandoned a pregnant woman carrying triplets."

"You left her homeless."

"And now..."

"You suddenly remember you're a father."

The words struck harder than any punch.

Even Chloe quietly took a step away from Nathan.

The courtroom battle began three weeks later.

Nathan hired the most expensive legal team money could buy.

Lucian hired no television lawyers.

He hired the attorneys who wrote half the laws Fortune 500 companies followed.

The hearing lasted four days.

Nathan argued inheritance.

Control.

Family legacy.

Then Ava quietly took the witness stand.

She didn't cry.

She didn't yell.

She simply told the truth.

About the loneliness.

The betrayal.

The divorce.

The tiny amount of money.

The bus.

The contractions.

The fear.

When she finished...

The courtroom was silent.

Then Lucian stood.

"I have one piece of evidence."

He nodded toward the large screen.

Hospital security footage appeared.

Nathan standing in the lobby.

Smiling.

While Ava was being rushed into emergency care upstairs.

Time stamps confirmed everything.

He had known she was in danger.

He never once asked if she was alive.

The judge slowly removed his glasses.

"I've seen enough."

Nathan's confidence disappeared.

For the first time...

He realized he might actually lose everything.
