Chapter 10 - Happily Ever After

Three years later, the sprawling estate in the Hamptons was alive with the sound of laughter, music, and the joyful patter of running footsteps.

The sun shone brightly over the manicured green lawns, casting a golden glow over the white wedding arch set up near the edge of the cliff overlooking the sparkling Atlantic ocean.

I stood in the bridal suite, staring at my reflection in the full-length mirror. The cascading silk and lace of my wedding gown swept gracefully around my feet, catching the light with every subtle movement.

The door clicked open, and Leo walked into the room.

He was nine years old now, growing taller by the day, with the exact same sharp jawline, dark hair, and intense, brilliant eyes as his father. But instead of a serious expression, his face beamed with pure, childish excitement. He was dressed in a miniature tuxedo complete with a tiny silver bow tie, holding a small velvet ring pillow in his hands.

“Mommy,” Leo announced proudly, walking over and tugging gently at the hem of my dress. “Dad says it’s time. Everyone’s waiting outside.”

I smiled, kneeling down to fix his collar, smoothing down his dark hair just like Storm used to do.

“You look very handsome, little man,” I whispered, kissing his cheek. “Are you ready to walk your mom down the aisle?”

“Born ready,” Leo grinned, quoting his father with a dramatic flair that made me laugh out loud.

A few minutes later, the gentle strains of a classical string quartet drifted across the lawn. As Leo and I stepped out onto the flower-lined aisle, the gathering of close friends, family, and trusted colleagues turned to watch.

Standing at the altar waiting for us was Storm.

He wore a classic black tuxedo, looking every bit the powerful patriarch he had always been, but his dark eyes were fixed entirely on me, shimmering with an emotion so deep and raw it made my breath catch in my throat. Standing right beside him as his best man was Leo, beaming from ear to ear.

When Leo and I reached the altar, Leo handed me over to Storm with a dramatic, exaggerated bow that made the entire crowd chuckle warmly.

Storm took my hands in his, his strong fingers warm and reassuring.

“You take my breath away, Juliet,” Storm whispered, his voice thick with emotion.

“You clean up pretty well yourself, Mr. Moretti,” I whispered back, a bright smile lighting up my face.

The ceremony was everything we had dreamed of—simple yet breathtaking, surrounded by the people who mattered most, free from the dark shadows of our past. When the officiant finally pronounced us husband and wife, Storm pulled me into his arms and kissed me with all the fierce, unwavering passion of a man who had fought the entire world to keep his family together.

As the crowd erupted into cheers and applause, Leo ran up, tossing handfuls of white rose petals into the air around us.

Storm scooped Leo up with one arm, pulling me close with the other, lifting both of us into a warm, joyful embrace as the golden sun dipped slowly toward the horizon.

We had beaten the odds. We had torn down the walls of our past, outsmarted our enemies, and built an empire of love that nothing could ever destroy.

And as I looked at the man who had once paid me to disappear, holding our son beneath the bright summer sky, I knew we had finally found our happily ever after.
