Chapter 9 - A Legacy of Integrity
As the years rolled on, the story of the savings jar began to fade into the background of our family history. It didn't define us anymore. Instead, it became a reminder of the day everything changed.
Trisha eventually decided to pursue a certificate in financial planning. It was poetic, in a way. She wanted to help other people avoid the mistakes she had made. She was good at it, too. She had the empathy of someone who had hit rock bottom and managed to climb back out.
Hannah graduated from high school with honors, and we watched her head off to college with a sense of pride that went deeper than just academic achievement. She was a woman of integrity, someone who knew her worth and wasn't afraid to protect it.
