The consequences of their choices unfolded with swift, uncompromising logic over the following six months.
Without my monthly transfers, Beverly’s luxurious lifestyle collapsed. She was forced to sell her high-end condo at a loss to pay off accrued debts and legal fees. She moved into a small, modest rental apartment on the outskirts of town, living entirely off her meager state pension—a fraction of what I used to give her voluntarily every month.
Joanna’s life unraveled even further. Following Mark’s divorce filing, the court awarded Mark primary custody of Harper, citing Joanna’s unstable behavior and financial reckless misuse. She knew, deep down in her young heart, that her mother was an unshakeable shield who would protect her against anything in the world.
