Part 2: The Secret Hidden in His Blood

Julian walked into the delivery room as if he owned the hospital.
His expensive coat was still damp from the rain, but his expression remained perfectly composed.
"I heard our son was born," he said calmly, ignoring the terrified look on my face. "I'm here to take care of everything."
Dr. Harris didn't move.
Instead, he held my baby protectively against his chest.
"You need to leave," the doctor said.
Julian smiled.
"I beg your pardon?"
"I said leave."
The room became painfully quiet.
Julian looked from the doctor to me before noticing the tears running down Dr. Harris's face.
"What exactly is going on?"
Dr. Harris slowly looked at him.
"Mr. Vance... when were you diagnosed with complete infertility?"
Julian's confident smile vanished.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
"I know exactly who you are."
The doctor took a deep breath.
"Fifteen years ago, I performed the surgery after your racing accident."
My heart stopped.
Julian's face turned white.
"You..." Julian whispered.
"I was the attending surgeon."
The doctor swallowed hard.
"The injuries permanently destroyed your ability to father biological children."
The room spun around me.
"No..." I whispered.
Julian immediately recovered.
"You're mistaken."
"I'm not."
Dr. Harris looked devastated.
"I reviewed your medical history myself. You demanded every record be sealed under strict legal confidentiality."
Julian's jaw tightened.
"The child cannot be biologically yours."
Silence.
Even the nurses froze.
I stared at Julian, unable to process what I had just heard.
For months I had believed every cruel accusation.
Every insult.
Every manipulation.
Had he known all along?
Dr. Harris carefully placed my son into my arms.
"He deserves the truth."
Julian suddenly laughed.
A cold, emotionless laugh.
"You think biology matters?"
His voice dropped.
"The boy belongs to the Vance family because I say he does."
He reached toward my baby.
I instinctively pulled away.
"Don't touch him."
His eyes hardened.
"You have no money."
"No lawyer."
"No home."
"You cannot stop me."
For the first time in months...
I smiled.
"You really believe that?"
Julian frowned.
I slowly reached beneath the hospital pillow and removed a small encrypted flash drive attached to my necklace.
"I've been waiting for this day."
His expression changed instantly.
"You..."
"I copied everything before you locked me out."
The offshore accounts.
The bribery payments.
The fake shell companies.
The recordings of you and your mother discussing how to have me declared mentally incompetent.
Every crime.
Every lie.
Every betrayal.

"I made six encrypted copies."
Julian's breathing became uneven.
"If anything happens to me or my son..."
I smiled calmly.
"...they're automatically delivered to federal investigators."
For the first time since our marriage...
I watched fear appear in Julian's eyes.
Before he could answer, two security officers entered the room.
"Sir, you'll need to leave."
Julian glared at me.
"This isn't over."
"It is," I replied quietly.
He walked out without another word.
But I knew Julian.
He never surrendered.
He simply changed strategies.
Three days later...
I was served with emergency custody papers.
Julian claimed I had kidnapped "his" son.
He wanted everything.
And this time...
