Chapter 8 - The Verdict and Retribution
It took the jury less than two hours to deliberate.
When the court reconvened, the foreperson stood and delivered the verdict: Guilty on all counts—attempted aggravated murder, child endangerment, fraud, and forgery.
The judge showed zero mercy during sentencing. She condemned Dennis's calculated cruelty, calling his actions "a monstrous betrayal of the most sacred trust a parent holds." She sentenced Dennis to life in prison without the possibility of parole, ensuring he would spend the rest of his natural days behind iron bars.
