Part 2: The Screen Exposed Every Lie

The projector flickered once.

Then the first video appeared.

The timestamp in the corner read 9:17 A.M.

It was the bridal suite.

Caleb stood over me while Evelyn held out the amended contract.

"Sign it," Caleb ordered.

"I won't."

His smile disappeared.

The room erupted as the footage showed him striking me across the face, sending me crashing into the vanity. Gasps echoed through the church. Someone dropped a champagne glass.

The next clip played immediately.

It showed Evelyn speaking to the attorney who had drafted the fraudulent documents.

"Once she's married," Evelyn said calmly, "everything becomes ours. She won't even realize what she signed until after the merger."

Another clip.

Caleb laughed while sitting with his groomsmen the previous evening.

"She thinks this is a love story. It's an acquisition."

His friends burst into laughter.

One of them asked, "And after the merger?"

Caleb shrugged.

"Six months. Then divorce. The company stays with me."

The church had become silent enough to hear people breathing.

The pastor slowly removed his glasses.

"I... I cannot continue this ceremony."

Caleb lunged toward the projector.

"Turn it off!"

But before he reached it, six men in dark suits entered through the back doors.

Not guests.

Security.

They formed a line across the aisle.

Behind them walked three members of ValeTech's Board of Directors.

Leading them was Victor Hayes, my father's oldest friend and the company's chief legal counsel.

He held up an official folder.

"Miss Bennett," he announced, "per your instructions, the emergency injunction has been approved."

Caleb froze.

Victor continued.

"Every share transfer, every forged amendment, and every attempted corporate seizure has been suspended."

Evelyn shot to her feet.

"You can't do this!"

Victor smiled politely.

"We already did."

He turned toward the congregation.

"This morning at 9:30, Miss Bennett submitted over two hundred pages of evidence to federal investigators, corporate regulators, and the district attorney."

The massive screen changed again.

This time it displayed bank transfers.

Secret offshore accounts.

Bribes to board members.

Forged financial statements.

Even payments to the private investigator who had created the fake affair photographs used to blackmail me.

The church exploded with whispers.

Several board members sitting among the guests quietly stood and walked away from Caleb.

Their loyalty had vanished.

Caleb finally found his voice.

"Amelia... please..."

It was the first time all morning he had spoken my name without arrogance.

I stepped toward him.

"You hit me because you thought fear would make me obedient."

I looked into his eyes.

"My father built ValeTech from a rented garage."

My voice never shook.

"You thought you were marrying an orphan."

I smiled.

"You forgot I was raised by a warrior."

Police sirens echoed outside.

The enormous wooden doors opened once more.

Detectives entered carrying arrest warrants.

One officer approached Caleb.

"Caleb Whitmore, you're under arrest for assault, conspiracy, attempted corporate fraud, extortion, and evidence tampering."

Another officer stopped beside Evelyn.

"Evelyn Whitmore, you're under arrest on related charges."

"No!" she screamed.

"You can't arrest me in church!"

The detective calmly replied,

"God forgives.

The law files paperwork."

As Caleb was handcuffed, he looked desperately at me.

"You ruined my life."

I shook my head.

"No."

"You spent years doing that yourself."

The church bells began ringing.

May you like

Not for a wedding.

But for the end of one.
