According to Pew Research Center, 83% of Americans favor requiring government-issued photo ID to vote, including 95% of Republicans and 71% of Democrats. Gallup polling has found 84% overall support for photo ID requirements and 83% support for requiring proof of citizenship when registering to vote for the first time.
